International Conference on Entrepreneurship,
Family Business and Innovation

Extended Abstract Deadline: June 30, 2010

Çankaya University is organizing an international conference on “Entrepreneurship, Family Businesses and Innovation” during 21-23 October 2010, in Ankara. The purpose of the international conference is to enhance relations and collaborations between academia and business world by sharing and exchanging information and experience on “Entrepreneurship, Family Businesses and Innovation”. The target group of the International Conference is expected to be composed of academicians, public authorities as well as representatives of NGOs and business world. The expected results of the International Conference are envisaged as not only to contribute to studies and activities of academia and business world but also to foster interactions between the university and the business life. It is estimated about 200 people to participate in the three-day conference and the language of the conference is planned to be both English and Turkish. The international conference intends to bring together academicians and practitioners from all over the world and to explore theoretical, empirical and methodological trends on the main theme; “Entrepreneurship, Family Businesses and Innovation”. Conceptual and empirical papers as well case studies and methodological papers are welcome.

Submission of Papers:

Scholars at all stages of their career and from all disciplines interested in the conference theme are invited to participate in and contribute to the conference with a paper. The topics include, but not limited to, the following themes:

Scholars who wish to present their research at the conference must upload an abstract, not exceeding 500 words through the conference website http://entre2010.cankaya.edu.tr, not later than May 31, 2010. The submissions will be reviewed anonymously by two reviewers independent of each other. The reviewers will consider the novelty, academic quality and the relation to the theme of the conference. Authors will be notified of the acceptance of their abstracts by June 28, 2010. Final papers of the accepted abstracts should be uploaded via the website, not later than September 06, 2010. Authors of accepted papers must pay the conference fee, at the latest, by October 15, 2010; otherwise, their paper will not be included in the conference programme for presentation. Authors may submit at most two papers. Papers with more than one author can be presented by any of the participating co-authors. Papers that are presented at the conference will be considered for publication in a ''special issue of 'Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences' (publication of Çankaya University).

Special Session Proposals:

It is also possible to contribute to the conference by arranging a special session on relevant topics with the conference theme. Outline of the proposed sessions, as MS Word attachments, not exceeding 500 words, should be sent to the conference e-mail: entre2010@cankaya.edu.tr, not later than April 30, 2010. The acceptance of session proposals will be notified by May 31, 2010. Session organizers are responsible for inviting at least 3-4 papers. Papers for the special session should be submitted to the session organizer. The session organizer is responsible for sending the received papers to the conference organizers for review. The final selection of the special session papers will be decided by the organizer. The organizer of the session must e-mail the papers with a short description about the authors to the conference e-mail by September 06, 2010. All authors accepted for special session are required to register and provide their payment by the conference registration deadline. The special session organizer will act as chairman of the suggested special session at the conference. Registration for the Conference:

Early-bird registration (by October 01, 2010) is 100 Euros. After October 01, 2010, the registration fee is 125 Euros for academicians. The registration for the conference ends by October 15, 2010, after this date registrations will not be accepted. For PhD students, a reduction of the conference fee to 50 Euros is applicable until October 01, 2010. After this date, until October 15, 2010, students will be charged 60 Euros. The conference fee covers the conference proceedings in CD, Special Issue of Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences of Çankaya University, conference dinner, as well as all other associated meals and cocktail.

Notification of acceptance for abstracts: 15 July 2010 (at the latest)

Deadline for submission of final papers: 06 September 2010 (17:00 pm)
